Busy Time for Polaris Learning Teams
It is continuing to be a busy time for the different Polaris Learning teams. The food and drink team have been very busy with Food and Drink Modern Apprentices. We have also been working with Management Modern Apprentices across Scotland in many sectors, both onshore and offshore. From Dumfries and Galloway, and the Scottish Borders right up to the Highlands and Islands, we continue to welcome the increasing investment from employers in developing their employees in many areas (aquaculture, fish and shellfish processing, meat and poultry processing, craft bakery, food sales and service, and main food production including fresh and frozen, and the supply chain).
With our expanding online learning system PLUS, learners are taking advantage of blended learning and online support from their assessors, as well as regular one to one meetings, as learners work towards their qualifications. Our new online Management Development Programme is being warmly received by the learners as they work through modules and carry out activities relating to their roles.
As well as the increasing numbers of modern apprenticeship enquiries, we have also been busy delivering Train the Trainer programmes both in the construction industry (another one coming soon) and the food and drink industry. Our Poultry Inspection Assistant courses are continuing with many repeat courses as our clients expand. HACCP, Food Hygiene, Supervisory Development and practical Seafish training have also been part of our team’s working weeks. It makes you wonder how we fit it all in!
Our leadership programme expanded this year to work closely with a client delivering a bespoke learning programme to embed HR and family friendly policies with front line managers. This showed a remarkable increase in the managers’ confidence in these areas in a short period of time.
